YOGA RETREATS & YOGA TRAININGS

I provide as many opportunities as possible to deepen your yoga practice and connect with like minded individuals whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Scotland. Attending a yoga retreat is much more than a weekend away.  It's time spent nurturing and nourishing yourself through practice and connection, an opportunity to down regulate your nervous system, an opportunity to soften. Scotland provides the gorgeous backdrops and landscapes to connect with our natural environments.

UPCOMING RETREATS

Heading 1

September 21-25th 2022
Autumn Yoga Retreat - Aviemore
Join me for a transformative 5 day retreat in Aviemore this Autumn to deepen your yoga practise.

This extended retreat is an the opportunity to deepen your understanding of Asana, Meditation, Pranayama (traditional and modern conscious connected breathwork) and Philosophy. Take time away from your daily routines to truly immerse yourself in your yoga practice - 2 hour long physical practices (Hatha, Vinyasa, Power, Yin), 1 hour long Meditations (Guided and Silent), life changing Pranayama practises (learn to relax your nervous system and expand your sense of self) and gain an understanding of Yoga Philosophy & the Koshas - the 5 layers Koshas (layers of the self).

You'll experience the kind of extended practices you would experience on a yoga teacher training, designed to truly deepen your understanding of yoga - through embodiment. My hope is that this retreat offers an illuminated path forward and helps you create the life you want to live by integrating these practises into your daily life. An 'advanced' practice is not one that is performed, it doesn't look any particular way, it's one that is offers you freedom.  An advanced practice allows you take up residence in your body, own your breath and have peace of mind.

Who is this retreat for? Everyone with an interest in deepening their understanding of yoga through extended practises. You do not need to have and 'advanced' practice to attend this retreat, just a curiosity to explore. There will also be plenty of time to relax, rest, swim, sauna and explore the gorgeous Inshriach Estate.

We'll spend our 4 nights at Inshriach Estate which is around 4 miles outside Aviemore on the backroad (B970) between Inverdruie and Feshiebridge.  Inshriach House is and Edwardian Country House which has been creatively and quirkily restored. It sits in a 200 acre estate in the Cairngorms National park, surrounded by forests and mountains and bordered by 3 miles of the River Spey. We'll have access to all of this for the weekend! There will be a good amount of time to yourself during this 5 day retreat, I'll offer journal prompts, readings and self practises, but you'll of course spend your free time as you wish. You can choose to explore the grounds or even walk further afield. There's a gorgeous swimming spot on the estate to wild dip or swim, plus a quirky little sauna right next to it!

Prices are based on rooms and include all meals and accommodations for your 4 night stay at Inshriach. Transportation is not included.

A weekend of Joy in Cairngorms National Park
Are you looking to reignite or rediscover Joy in your life? Join me this July in Aviemore to allow uncertainty, tension and tightness to release as we immerse ourselves in yoga, swimming, play, self care, nourishing food and connection.

Enjoy twice daily yoga practices that include movement, breathwork and meditation. Creative, playful and fiery morning practising igniting the fire within. Sweet heart opening yin/restorative practises in the evening. Optional afternoon workshops. I've designed this weekend around one word: Joy. I've found myself asking 'Where is the Joy?' lately. And finding answers in the simplest of mindful practises, subtle connections to nature and inviting in play. So I'd love to share these things with you and more, to not just live, but thrive this summer.

The Royal Cottage was built as a place to stay for Queen Victoria during her 1859 visit to the nearby Victorian water works which were to supply the growing city of Glasgow clean water. Today it is a comfortable highland escape complete with wood burning stoves, cosy bedrooms and a unbeatable views of the wild surroundings. A secluded and quiet environment that allows you to completely relax, but still only a distance from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling.

Getting there:

Royal Cottage can be found on google maps (search Royal Cottage, Stronachlacher) but as mobile reception can be bad in the area it is worth noting some directions as well. From Aberfoyle follow the B829 for 25 minutes along a winding road until you reach a T junction. Turn right for Stronachlacher then take the next right in under 100m where you will see a sign for Royal Cottage. The private road is gated, please leave the gate as you find it. Drive along the single-track road for 5 minutes until Royal Cottage is seen on your left.

Cancellations: If we, the hosts, need to cancel the retreat because of new covid restrictions, each guest will be refunded in full. If you, the guest need to cancel and full refund will be given ONLY if we can fill the space with another guest.
